Hi Molo!
The SharCon wasn't the same without you...I miss you!

Thank you for doing this podfic for all of us to enjoy. I had never listened to podfic in ANY fandom before, so I really benefitted from having a physical example to enjoy.

During the panel I made a comment along the lines of "yeah, but no one would want to listen to me reading, I've got a heavy Bostonian accent and a deep voice to boot". Some discussion was made of how no one likes the sound of their own voice.

I'm assuming, though, that just as in singing, there are people who should refrain from reading Podfic because the sound of their voice is not pleasing. Has it been your experience that authors/editors are honest if it just isn't a good idea for a person to be a reader?

Are you writing in other fandoms? I miss enjoying your gifts and hope that all is well.
Hugs,
Elaine

Hey, miss elaine. I'm sorry I missed the con. I hear it was fabulous.

I'm glad you liked the reading: seriously, low voices are good for podfics, believe me, and I don't think you should assume no one would enjoy your readings. my voice is lower than yours, and this isn't the first podfic I've done.

it's hard for me to tell if authors are honest about liking me doing their stories, obviously, but they seemed very sincerely happy and didn't stop me from doing it again. :)

I am writing in The Sentinel and due South right now (http://arrow00.livejournal.com) (I thought I had told you, sorry), but I have two new S/H stories coming out in Keri's zine, if you hadn't seen. :)

YAY! My first Starsky & Hutch Podfic!
I can't flail as I'd like, because I'm at work, hehehehe
But, seriously, that's perfect! I love PodFics, and there's a horrible lack of Starsky & Hutch podfics, so thanks a lot for this!

I've written you before about how much I like your podfic, but thought I'd go ahead and say it here too while I'm here. I enjoyed listening to it and the voice as well. Anyone who's ever listened to books on tape will, I think, be a little more used to experiencing SH stories this way. For first-timers, just lie back and close your eyes, and let yourself go into the voice. It sure sounds beautiful; when the computer's voice does not sound so beautiful! At least a real person can add some emotion behind the words. It reminds me of the old radio dramas, and that's kind of neat.

thank you, what an awesome comment! I remember listening to the old Mills' Bros Radio Hour? when I was a kid and the family was on car trips.
